Good show guys. I am even more excited about getting a Vac bed then I was before! The Down thing is quite appealing to. Thanks for letting us know about it, I would of never thought of that. Maybe my next winter coat should be one ;) Gets cold here in the winters and that would be a wonderful way to spice up the cold days :D

Vac beds are so cool, I'll have to try one (or try one on someone!) at some point. I would have to restrain myself from doing Jaba the Hutt impressions though. Every time I see of these things I think "Carbonite!"

Hey, We listened to the podcast on the drive down to DC for The Crucible's Leather Fleamarket and Play Party. Guess who was there? None other than Slyx himself. We had a wonderful time and we didn't get a chance to try out the vac bed during the fleamarket as were were dazeled by the toys and a guy who makes his own liquid latex that is actually thicker than others. So during the play party I helped Slyx set up the bed and I slipped my girl in it. She has never been in latex before and since it was the open faced one, she agreed to try it. Once that suction was turned on she had the biggest smile on her face. You guys talking about it and then her trying it made a convert of her. We are now dying to get a vac bed. I can't wait to play with her while she's in it. She looks lovely in all sorts of fetish wear and tied up but that vac bed puts the visuals in a totally different class. Slyx is a wonderful guy and we loved talking with him. Really, to anyone, if you want a vac bed, get it from him. I know we will.

Thanks for the intro to the puffy fetish! I couldn't believe how much I related to how much of what you were talking about. I found puffy things unexpectedly interesting -- both in terms of the reactions they provoked in me, and in terms of trying to understand what those reactions were and how they're caused.

You know the fairytale about the princess and the pea? She can sense the pea even under however many layers of mattress? Well, I totally want to be that pea. There's something both comforting and delicious in being covered by layers of blankets, mattress, bedding.

The obvious pop psychology explanation: memory of the womb.

But the puffy seems to cover a lot more than just that sort of sensation... I loved that you pointed out (and I could completely empathize with) among others: the feeling of being hugged by downy fabric; the feeling of being ensconced, protected, in a puffy suit and rolling around in the snow; the sound of ski clothes; and the surprisingly erotic look of some of the puffy gear (especially the long black shiny coats).

Two questions: (1) isn't there more than just "the puffy" here, or, alternatively, is it possible to break "puffy" into different elements, like size, flexibility, bounciness, cuteness, softness, fluffiness, cuddliness? Perhaps each of these has its own symbolic system, and perhaps there are at least as many different primary types of "puffy" fetish as there are such elements; and (2) if there weren't any sexual element, could an attraction to puffy things still count as a "fetish"? Not every obsession, fascination, interest, is a fetish, right? Atticus sometimes talks about being curious where fetishes come from, but perhaps a prior task would be to clarify the concept, to determine what gets included in and excluded from the category.
