Then again, I would have rolled my eyes in regards to the furry episode of FF which apparently has all hit the cutting room floor. Ah-well.

i LOVE it when you two just talk. Also love the title of this podcast, "On Our Knees". This should be photo-illustrated, don't you think?
The "don't ask, don't tell" policy was mentioned and i would like to clarify. We do talk about my being a crossdresser, it's just that i don't do it in front of her or tell her about my dressing. We talk about fashion, and panties, and funny things like Miss America (sorry, guilty pleasure) and did i ever have a "being Miss America" fantasy.

Heya Nova, Atticus & fellow FF fans. Two quick comments. First, I'd love to see FF get a discussion board going, this seems like a really fun crowd to talk about kink with. Next, on the last show they talked about fetish in mainstream media as a topic. I think it's a great one. One issue related to that I'd like to raise is how every time BDSM is present on a tv show or in a movie, it's always tied into a rape or murder storyline. That totally pisses me off! Makes it nearly impossible to "come out" to vanilla friends because of the stereotypes associated with us. Reactions?

John - This is a great topic. We have heard from so many people that they are petrified to come out to their partner, as well as their friends, because of the social stigma being kink has.
I'll talk about what it was like when I told some of my *very* vanilla friends that Atticus was kinky when we first started dating. It was a mixed bag of reactions.

John--regarding BDSM in TV, did you watch the latest CSI with "Lady Heather"? While it did have some negative portrayal of BDSM, I really loved the ending when Grissom's "safe word" (stop, not the best safe word) pulled her out of herself and got her to calm down. I found that to be a really tender moment between them. In general, I've always liked the dynamic between them when they do episodes with her.
Anyway, I'd love a discussion on BDSM in movies, mostly because the only non-porn I've seen is Secretary.

Oh goodie, let's make a list...
Cameron Diaz gets tied to a post at the end of The Mask. Actually, "girl tied up" occurs in a lot of things, like Lois Lane in the original Superman TV series and, of course, the original Dukes of Hazzard (saw one of those today while channel changing, honest, i was channel changing).
Drew Barrymore gets a whipping from Anjelica Houston in Ever After.
i haven't seen 9 1/2 weeks but have heard that it has s/m themes.

Though it's a bit ludicrous, one of my first fetish exposures via the movies was the giant sex orgy scene in The Howling II. All the leather and straps and such made quite an impression. Fastforward and now some of my favorite things are bondage, fetishware, and werewolf movies.

In the old British series "The Avengers", Emma Peel ended up bound in most of the episodes. Combine that with her penchant for catsuits and it was great to watch the reruns on PBS.
