Yes Nova... those clothespins really can hurt. But they hurt more coming off than going on... and that's just so cool. The anticipation, knowing that they do indeed HAVE TO come off and that you will HAVE TO deal with it. The blood surges back into those little creases and wakes up the nerves. Yeah baby! And if you're partner capitalizes on that in your power play... boom shacka lacka lacka. There is a game show on Comedy Central called Distraction. One of the stunts involves people putting clothes pins on their face while answering trivia questions. (does this beat the wristwatch thingy?) I actually enjoy seeing the marks left behind. Not because I am into the pain experience so much, it's more about the "relief" experience. Much like the feeling of being released from being tied up and then jumping onto your partner for a good healthy roll. Ok, now I'm just rambling.

You said someone had porn of women eating sandwiches? Can we get a link? I wonder how that works.

Great cast! Just to give some feedback! on number 7 Nova yes people can be negative and narrow minded. It is like we all have a diffrent world model. This cabdriver made you very angry. Good you told him. To be honest over here in Europe (im close to amsterdam) there is more openness on the subjects jou are covering. I liked your show! I do have some tips for you. Did you ever concider makeing the show more radiolooking, meaning adding some music in between the talking. The talking is great and its keeps my attention. Keep up the good work!

Fun show! To be honest, you guys sounded a little down at first; I hope Atticus feels better, but even you Nova, sounded a bit unenergetic at first. I was getting worried that there was some problem you guys weren't letting us onto, but then you guys got back into the groove after a couple of minutes and turned out a great show.
I really like how you planned a short show and it ended up being almost the longest. Also, the sound quality of the show was back to stellar again. How about posting the "Bedcast" one of these days, just for the hell of it? :) It could be like FF bloopers.
Posted by: Nova at January 20, 2006 10:58 PM
Billy - I think watches/wrist cuffs will always beat most things in my book. I like the way you worded "the relief experience". It's so sweet after the ropes are off and that slightly sensitive skin is rubbed or touched as the pain fades.
G - You are right, we started pretty low key, but doing the show seems to be the best medicine. glad the show landed on it's feet!
I'll have to check with A to see if we still have the 'bedcast' - but I think it would only be interesting to very few listeners...
GJ - We love the suggestions and feedback on ways to improve on the show - Thanks for writing in!
And thanks to everyone who continues to send us emails to let us know you are out there, where you are, and love the show. Every email is like a cyber hug =gush=

Enjoyed the show-very courageous and kinky! I hope that both of you can fulfill all of your resolutions in 2006.

I'm just learning to go out in public dressed in my collar and other gear. The pictures I sent you were taken when I was at hotels that had the UCLA teams and marching band and two religious gatherings...I came down to the lobby with a leather and chain bra over my corset, collar, wrist restraints, chain leash, rough rider condom tucked in my cleavage, and riding crop for whomever would choose to use it...here came Mr. and Mrs. Straight Conservative...his comment..."I don't know what is going on here, but I'm scared"
That comment gave me the confidence to hold my head high...there is something that makes me feel so sexy and confident when I wear that collar...I've been looking for more reasons to go out that way...now I need my playmate to feel just as good about being in public

Oh my, another wonderful show! i love it when you two just talk.
As to A's resolution about going to the gym, here is an idea that might appeal to the bottom-oriented people out there. i call it "found domination", that is, you find a workout/aerobics/yoga class that is taught by a women who might be topping you (in your fantasy world). Gives you a little extra motivation to show up. i have always wondered if there are any instructors out there that actually run domination workout classes. Should i be pitching this to VC, hee hee.
So looking forward to a 2006 where Fetish Flame is on the air. N+A RULES!

syndi,
I find what you say very interesting because A recently started meeting with a personal trainer weekely at the gym and I think the 2 of us are pretty well decided that its a good outlet for her to get a feeling of being dominated because heres this woman who is making her do all kinds of exercises that hurt, and shes standing over her giving her instructions, and telling her to make sure she is doing them correctly. Its a good way for A to work on her ability to obey with out question.
On a seperate note I want to say that again I was very pleased with this show. Hearing the fantasy talk has me sitting on the edge of my seat wanting to hear more. Atticus' rubber girl idea sounds great, and waiting to find out about Nova's secret fantasy is pure torture. Here's to another great year.
My Resolution is to visit California and SF again in the spring. From there things will just happen as they happen.

Hi all,
I'll have to agree with intenselygreen on the joys of vanilla. The heady aroma rivals that of latex...no really (and perhaps even surpasses it). Here's an idea: toss a vanilla bean in the latex box!
Completely off topic, but if you get a chance, especially if you enjoy the little MINI Cooper, stop by MINI Canada's site at www.mini.ca. Check out the "Dominate Winter" link. It's a hoot.
And since I'm off topic, does anybody out there know anything about the illustrator Robert Blayney? To call his cartoons for "Heavy Rubber" magazine over-the-top would be a gross understatement. I'd really like to see more of his work, but Googling him brings up a big fat zilch.

Thanks stays for the kind comments. I worked as a chef in my wasted youth and I found that vanilla is NOT the antithesis of spice but rather provide a maturity of flavour that truly allows the heat of chilis and peppers to manifest themselves more robust and powerful than one would have thought possible. I had written to A&N about the bad rap that vanilla has but the metaphor is even more apt for kinksters. Imagine a bondage session, a sensation experience, a pain play. One rarely whales away without a break or a diversion and finds that they have achieved the greatest experience, even if the experience was designed to test pain thresholds and exposure to frightening pain. Starting slow, a surprise, a break, a gentle kiss intermingled with high intensity play does not detract from pain thresholds, it enhances them. I make a vanilla chicken with chutney of Cuban and Thai chilis. It is awesome. It is like your palatte is being flogged with a single tail and then kissed and caressed. I think it would make most people hard, or wet, or both. This isn't food, it is sex on a plate although most people don't get that. I feel like perhaps I have a sympathetic audience here.
I had an idea once about writing a cookbook for lovers. Each dinner was for two people only, okay, there might have been later chapters for three or four. The idea was it was sensual and arousing food that awoke and enhanced the senses. One prepared a recipie either for, or with one's lover and with any luck at all the dishes didn't get done until the next day at the least. There was also a picnic planned for excursions outdoors.
This project has been on my shelf for a number of years my wife at the time thought the project inappropriate and immoral and disgusting. And I didn't even tell her anything explicit, I was using the word sensual as a buffer between her uptight disapproval and what I thought was a really cool idea.
If I dust off some of the recipies and it Nova and Atticus test drive them, would people be interested in that? The biggest reason that I shelved the project, aside from the marital tension, was that I have no experience in getting something published and I didn't have the first clue about how to go about it.
But that was pre-internet, or at least mid 90s. I've been thinking of self-publishing some of my writing online. I never expected to make any money, goodness knows not rich, but a writer likes to have an appreciative audience like a chef wishes to have delighted dinners. I could put together the menus, from shopping, mise en place, foreplay, cooking, eating and sharing, and so much more. I'd need some glamorous food shots, making the dinner look sexy and the lovemaking look nourishing. I don't believe that you'd need to be Steve Diet Goedde to hit that one out of the park.
Maybe I'm babbling, or maybe this could become the official Fetish Flame cookbook, all proceeds going to getting N&A a video camera, perhaps a class for Nova, a toy for Atticus, and some donation to the St. James Infirmary.
I've sort of felt for years that I could do this book sometime and that it would probably fill a niche (no pun intended) in the cookbook firmament. But I hadn't thought about it until just now, and I love, love, love the idea of a community project among Fetish Flame fans. It could get some ink for the site in mainstream media, do some good, but it would also be a lot of fun. As recipies are released, say, one every week or two, people can try them out with their lovers and report back. The feedback will be incorporated into the revision of the recipie.
Let me know if this sounds at all interesting.

Hi intenselygreen,
I couldn't imagine any youth spent with food being wasted (unless, of course, it involved grease soaked pants and paper hats). Although it's quite easy to find people passionate about food, the appreciation of food combined with passion seems to be more common among our continental cousins. You've certainly peaked my interest and I'm sure there are others here who would love to have you share your recipes. I hope you do take the opportunity to publish your book. I'm a big believer in chasing one's dreams. :-)

Hi Everyone,
We are here and doing well! Thank You all for your emails and notes of concern.
Life outside of podcasting seemed to get control of our time, but after *finally* sitting down with our new friend Dan (we rescheduled about 4 times), who is a life long diaper fetishist, we have a renewed focus on FF.
Wait til you hear the show. He's funny, articulate and incredibly interesting - and we feel that a lot of people can relate to his experiences no matter what their kink is.
Check us out this Sunday!
we really miss you all too
xoxo

Yay! A new show. We've been waiting with baited breath.
I sent pet to work with all your back issues on his iPod. Aren't I evil :)

stays - I meant to thank you for sending us the mini.ca link. We've always wanted to get a Mini and now even more so!
Interestingly enough, we just saw an (insurance?) commercial last night that had a man being dominated by his Mistress in a conference room getting caught by his wife.
We should do a show on kinky commercials - there are a bunch out there!
Posted by: syndi at February 13, 2006 04:51 AM
kinky commercials! yah!
Did you see the Priceline.com commercial where Capn Kirk tries on strappy sandals? Natasha found a dominatrix beer ad but i can't find the link. And then there is the cuckolding Budweiser ad where a guy brings in a self clone to do his wife so he can go drinking with the boys.
And there is also Hollywood kink. my favorite kink movie is Some Like it Hot. Jack Lemon is an inspiration as Daphne, hee hee.

Intensely Green - We'd love to try some of your recipes! Start us off easy though. I'm not one who loves to spend 2 hours making dinner - but I do cherish a home cooked meal and a bottle of wine for two.
the cookbook sounds wonderful - you should definitely pick the project back up.
