Show Notes for Fetish Flame 7.0 - Nov 22, 2005 - Interview with Steve Diet Goedde

sdg_dvd.jpg

Nova and Atticus sit down (in the jungle of LA) with world famous -- and incredibly humble -- international fetish photographer Steve Diet Goedde.

They talk about his career and the newly released "Living Through...Steve Diet Goedde," a collection of almost 15 years of unique, intelligent, and extraordinary work. (Nova gushes quite a bit in this interview.) This DVD honestly offers something for every fetishist and anyone who enjoys beautiful photography of very interesting and gorgeous women. (You can get a signed copy for $20 on his website.)

Steve discusses starting photography at a very early age and also opens up about his early memories of developing a boot and shoe fetish before he even knew what sex really was. Nova reveals a bit of her own fascination as she points out a number of unique shots that bring subtle focus on the sexy shoes, boots, and stockings on the models.

In addition to fetish photography, Steve has also had his phonecam art displayed in galleries.

Stay tuned for an advanced version to be offered on iTunes with images from the DVD.

The slideshow approach was perfect for this episode. While I wouldn't want to "gush" too much over content, I certainly enjoyed learning about Steve's background and the thought process involved with his work. Although the background noises are distracting at some points, other times (like the motorcycle) it just seemed appropriate! Also, thanks for including the model's names in the display. Your attention to detail just adds that extra touch!

Next up: The Red Couch?
Keep up the stellar work!

Love the show. I was checking out the competition (can you call it "competition" if there is no money?) and stumbled upon your lovely show. Well done and VERY interesting. Come to Chicago and we'll do a combined show.

Excellent show- getting into the mind of a great fetish photographer was very informative. Look forward to your next show;keep up the great work. Is a show on gas masks, vac beds and breath play on the docket? Would love to hear a couple that could give their insight (how about Rubber Eva and Natalia).

Your Greatful listener.

Stretchhh - thanks for the feedback. Atticus spent some quality time on the image set up, so I'm happy to see that it is appreciated. As one of our long-time listeners, it's nice to know we are offering shows that keep you listening =hug=

Dr Black - your new email reflects your love of rubber; I love it! We touch a bit upon gas masks when we talk to Midori (wait 'til you see the image that Steve Goedde provided for that part of the show we did with her - it's so incredible!) and we will touch on them again in the early new year. We are planning another rubber show, and there is so much we want to include: esp vac beds! Stay tuned, you'll hear more on that topic sooner than later.

Excellent show. So interesting to find out a bit more about the guy behind so many amazing photos. I really appreciated the tip on the anthology. Didn't realize it was such a good price.

Who knew that SDG was such a regular guy? Was both interesting and refreshing to hear about his process. Thanks for this one guys.

Atticus you sound like a showhost on the history channel called "Digging for the truth" you sound dead up like josh bernstein! if you are him that makes you doubly cool :D

I think at one point you guys ask Steve if he ever gets turned on. Something like that anyway. And he responds something along the lines of: Not usually; I always maintain a detachment.

I find the subject fascinating. I mean, one would have thought, that you have to feel it to know it, that photographing a fetish can never be a detached task. And in fact, I think Steve's answer was ambiguous.

Reminds me of something: when sitting in the directorial armchair, you have to be open to feeling, have to be your actors' audience, but at the same time you have to be analytical, and able to translate your feelings into words, and able to work out why something did work or didn't.

But the more open to feeling you are, the less analytical; and vice versa. Perhaps a basic instability of this form is present in all art.
